Tokens for free ration to be distributed at cardholders’ doorstep
The Tamilnadu government has given a press release on Apr.22, announcing that ration tokens for free commodities for the month of May, will be delivered to ration cardholders at their homes on April 24 and 25. The move aims to reduce crowding at ration shops.
The date and time as to when the goods will be provided will be mentioned in the tokens.The Government has requested the public to maintain social distancing when collecting the ration.
The cardholders will be provided with one kg of sugar, one kg of dhal, and 1 litre cooking oil, besides rice allotted to the card, for free.The press release also stated that over 1, 89,01,068 people are benefited through this relief measure.
