No respite for the state now, from lock down
The State Government of Tamilnadu has refused to relax the restrictions imposed till May 3, after the review meeting on containment of COVID 19, today. The meeting also had the expert committee, led by finance Secretary, S.Krishnan, submitting a report containing the list of sectors that can be allowed phased removal of restrictions.
This meeting was held after the revised guidelines issued by the Union Government directing the State/UT governments to relax certain activities to ease the hardships of the public.
The state press release stated, “The state is focused on taking intensive measures to contain the spread of COVID 19, and it has been decided to continue the existing lockdown restrictions under the Disaster Management Act 2005. The government may consider relaxing the restrictions after confirming that the transmission of the virus is under control.”
On April 19,105 new cases were reported in Tamil Nadu bringing the total cases to 1477.
