Madras Inherited conducts a workshop on heritage

Updated: Apr 8

Madras Inherited, on Mar.1, conducted a workshop ‘Heritage Research and Documentation’ that intended to make knowledge related to heritage accessible to all. The three-day workshop was held at Triple O Studio, Gandhi Nagar, and aimed at deconstructing the term ‘heritage’ and relating it to the participants in order for them to achieve an understanding of the larger spectrum of the term.

The organisation collaborated with Dr. Suresh Sethuraman, the State Convenor for the Tamil Nadu INTACH (Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage) for the workshop.

The participants, from varied backgrounds, were involved in a series of lectures by Dr. Suresh, who taught the process of listing a heritage building and documenting intangible heritage like crafts, art forms, traditions, etc.
