ISKCON provides relief materials to Corporation

ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness), has been supporting the Government during this pandemic by providing necessary ‘essentials’ to the people.

At their ECR and Sholinganallur temple, packed food is kept available for patrolling police officers throughout the day. Food relief is also being carried out by other centers of ISKCON in the districts of Tamilnadu such as Coimbatore, Madurai, Nagercoil, Trichy, and so on, to the needy.

On the request of the Zonal Officer of the Greater Chennai Corporation, ISKCON Chennai provided 2000 safety kits containing gloves, masks, sanitizers, and soap to be distributed among the volunteers, health workers, and sanitation staff. Safety kits were also given to the Neelankarai Police station for the police force.

They are also harnessing resources to distribute grains and spices to daily wage labourers who are unable to raise income for their essential needs because of the lockdown.

On the spiritual side, several devotees of ISKCON are praying for world welfare by chanting the mahamantra, reading sacred scriptures every day.
